Israel & Palestine

For decades most people did not pay attention to the tragic events unfolding in the West Bank and Gaza. That all changed on October 7, 2023 when Hamas broken through the barriers and massacred more than 1200 Israelis and took 254 people hostage. While October 7 is a day that no one should ever forget, one must know the whole story; the declarations, the international involvement and the events that have happened over the past one hundred years. This page will provide resources for you to become better informed in order to more effectively advocate for a just resolution.

Refugee Resettlement

Ponds is helping to resettle refugees in northern New Jersey. These are families who have gone through a long, arduous process by the State Department and have been approved. Through the work of CWS they have found housing, but they need your help to further assimilate and be successful. If you would like to learn more about getting involved, contact the Volunteer Coordinator for Refugee Resettlement at volunteer@pondsnj.org.

Lebanon Relief

After a year of deadly bombings by Israel, neighborhoods, schools and entire communities have been destroyed. More than buildings have been damaged. People of all ages have been traumatized and need trauma therapy to help them regain their life. Your donation will help provide trained psychologists to work primarily with students and parents, teachers and staff. In addition to addressing mental health, donations will also support basic nutritional needs of displaced families. With your support, the Rev. Linda Macktaby and the National Evangelical Church in Lebanon can bring the necessary help to the people of Lebanon. It’s a small step but an important step towards healing and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
